Blood Type Testing June 2023

Knowing your blood type is important, particularly in case of an emergency where a patient may require a blood transfusion and also for blood donation to help others.

The Sanjiwani team and Government health staff at the Ghandruk clinic have been working in collaboration with the local Junior Red Cross group to run a camp, to conduct blood group testing. On June 12 and 15 at the Meshran Baraha Secondary School, students from grades 9 and 10 and their teachers participated in the camp.

Blood samples were taken from the participants by Manita Paiyar and Suchita Thapa. The participants” blood samples were analysed by Suchita at the school and the participants were advised of their respective blood types. There were 56 students and 16 teachers who were tested.
