Sanjiwani Public Health Mission Nepal’s staff in Ghandruk Health Post and Chomrong Health Post have been working untiringly as frontline health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic situations along with undertaking daily health post activities.
Ghandruk and Chomrong communities have also been affected by the Covid-19 second-wave outbreak. Out of 20 Antigen tests in Tikhyan, 10 were found positive and 37 Antigen tests were done from contact tracing where all the reports were negative. In the first phase, 93 Antigen tests were done in Ghandruk and 7 PCR tests in Pokhara where 31 reports were found positive, and in the second phase 73 Antigen tests were done where 6 positive cases were reported. In Chomrong Health Post 51 Antigen tests were done and 2 of them were found positive. One positive case of Ghandruk had to be referred to Pokhara for further treatment and other positive cases were recovered in Ghandruk. Currently, Ghandruk has no positive cases.
Sanjiwani staff was monitoring the positive cases of Covid-19 along with the Health Post staff of Ghandruk & Chomrong. Patients were given medicines, masks, soaps and were kept in isolation in their respective houses. Counselling was given to them, and they kept in touch with us on a daily basis to monitor their health conditions.
Several organizations around the Annapurna Rural Municipality and Ghandruk were very helpful. They were very concerned about the health of the staff working at the Health Post and the positive patients. Health workers and Health Post in Ghandruk received lots of masks, sanitizers, & other useful equipment like oxygen concentrated machine to fight against the Covid-19. Sanjiwani Public Health Mission Nepal in Ghandruk also distributed lots of masks to the positive patients and during the antigen test and Covid-19 vaccinating time.
